Student influence is statutory

The right student influence is regulated in the higher education act and the higher education ordinance. These two documents regulate the institute's and university's rights and obligations. This is a right that should not be underestimated.

Student voices are heard

Student voices do not go unheard, thanks to the student representatives in committees, counsels and boards we have a wider grip and can raise the student's voices so they are heard by the institutes drafting and decision-making body.

The student unions standpoint

The academy structure is built on the principle of collegiate decision. This means preparations and decisions are to be made in cooperation between the academy, leaders and students. For this reason, students should be present during decisions.

Economical compensation

Besides using your legal right to influence and strengthen your knowledge about student rights. You also get economical compensation in the form of remuneration. Student representatives also gets economical compensation when you have to travel for the summon.

certificate of your commitment

All of the student representatives can request a written certificate from the institute that documents the mission's nature and extent. When the issuance of the certificate is requested the chairman of the said organ is to be contacted, The certificate can and should be used to strengthen your resume and show your experience.

Movement of mandatory moments

To be able to participate in student representative meetings, when it is practically feasible, the opportunity to participate in a mandatory moment at another time is given if it collides with the meeting. This must be reported ahead of time to course responsible, the student is responsible for this.

 According to the Higher Education Ordinance, cases of disciplinary action against students must be handled by a disciplinary board that must be present at each school. Here, the student union appoints two student representatives.

The Dean's Group is the treating body for questions concerning BTH's education at the research facility. Here, the student union is present as student representatives together with doctoral student representatives.

The working environment committee is an organ for the cooperation of employees, employers and students in the working environment.

The committee consists of institute director, chairman on the student union, curator, a representant from the personnel department, head of the work environment attorney, two additional work environment attorneys, two representatives for students and a work environment attorneys for students.

BTH sees that diversified recruitment and diversified participation is included in its activities. The aim is to recruit prospective students from underrepresented groups to increase their share and for diversified participation, efforts are made to receive, introduce and support new students in their studies.
