the student unions work

what the student union is working on right now

The Student Union’s work regarding student influence is still continuing as normal. It is important that even if you have your education completely remotely still email us if you encounter any problems with your teachers, exams or anything regarding your education. It’s in times like these that it is important that we communicate with each other.

We would like to emphasize that BTH are doing everything they can to ensure that your education will continue with as little trouble as possible.

Studentkårens Kårordförande sitter med i BTH:s arbetsgrupp som hanterar coronarelaterade frågor och har möten regelbundet för att kontinuerligt uppdatera varandra om vad som sker i varandras verksamheter.

what has happened so far?

Thank you for being a member of the student union, it enables Blekinge Student Union to be members of The Swedish National Union of Students (SFS). They work for the rights of students at a national level, which is extra critical during these times!

Did you know that SFS fought to get the government to make a decision that would enable students with granted CSN to continue to receive study funding even if the university had to cancel education entirely?

The section for Internet-based Socialization (SIS) helps in the fight against COVID-19 by using computing power that they have over to Folding@Home, a global project to calculate how proteins “fold”, helping researchers research faster in subjects such as different viruses and a host of other diseases! We think this is a great initiative!

Take breakes!

It's very easy to just study while the studies are online. Treat yourself to some time to take short breaks and do something else than stareing into a screen! Fresh air and sunshine are very uplifting way to pause.

The student union board recommends that all boards of Blekinge Student Union cancel major physical events for the remainder of the spring term and either move forward to the autumn term or switch to digital solutions.

Remember to follow our educational associations and social sections on social media to get information about any potential events.

This information is specifically for sub-boards in the student union.

Sub-boards in the student who wish to plan smaller physical event during summer break or for the next semester, are allowed to do so with care and with restrictions from the public health agency of Sweden in mind.
You also NEED to contact the student union board with a detailed action plan answering the following questions:

  • When and where will the event take place?
  • What physical activities are you planning?
  • What will you do to reduce the risk of spreading corona? Like hand sanitizer etc.
  • How many people are the activities planned for?

Take note that the student union board may ask further questions regarding your event, therefore it is important that you contact the student union board as soon as possible.
